This concept was first brought to me by a co-worker named Bob. He read a book that contained this principle and always referenced it from that point on. The idea is contrary to what you would likely believe, that bad is the enemy of great. But it’s not. You see, if things are bad enough, you would likely put in the necessary work to fix it.
Good, however, is the true enemy is great. You likely have a good car, good home, etc. So you stop. Hey, things are good enough, why go the extra mile? So you live in your normal day to day existence and wonder why things aren’t progressing for you.
The solution is to continue to put in the effort to take things from good to great. If things aren’t great, you must treat them as unacceptable and continue to fix it until it is. That is, if you truly want more than you currently have. Believe that you deserve greatness and don’t stop until you achieve it!
Never stop believing in yourself! Talk to you soon 🙂

People do get enamored with “good enough,” which is just a chance to be a bit lazy. It’s not exactly what you want, but it’s close enough. Enough… not my kind of word.
Great, that’s something else entirely.
Wonderful post by the way!

Yes, I’m surprised that I find logic in this post. However, I had a business class a couple years ago, where the Professor consistently used the word ‘sufficient’. By the end of the course, I had to call him on this, and allowing younger students to believe it’s okay to suffice. Nothing is sufficient, it merely is what it is until better is created, or accomplished.
Good on ya Dan.
